Talk About Sleep Management Team

James C. O'Brien MD, FCCP, D'ABSM

President, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. O'Brien is a medical physician who has been in private practice 27 years and first became involved in sleep medicine over 20 years ago when he began to notice that many of his patients, who were not responding to standard medical treatments, actually harbored an undiagnosed sleep disorder, were not responding to conventional medical treatments. Not surprisingly, many of these patients, when tested and treated for their sleep disorder, improved dramatically and experienced a greater than anticipated clinical result, as well as a new awareness of well being. These early and dramatic patient experiences shifted his medical focus towards sleep disorders and achieving healthy sleep.

During his medical career, Dr. O'Brien has worked as a primary care physician, pulmonologist and sleep physician and has lectured innumerable times to healthcare professionals both in the United States and Germany about sleep disorders. Additionally, he has appeared on many TV and radio programs addressing the need for healthy sleep and the early treatment of sleep disorders.

Dr. O'Brien received his medical degree from New York Medical College , in New York City in 1975 and completed both his internal medicine, pulmonary and sleep medicine training in the Boston area. He is currently board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine.

Tracy R. Nasca

Vice President, VP Support

Tracy's professional experience includes business and advocacy. She has been involved in sleep disorders for many years after first being diagnosed with sleep apnea in 1989. After successful treatment, Tracy began extensive study into the causes, factors, and limitations imposed by her condition.

As a sleep disorder patient, she is aware of the ignorance, prejudice, and fear that surround these disorders. Through painful personal experience, she has become aware of the problems of inaccurate diagnosis, improper treatment, and the radical options offered to sleep patients. Based on her study and personal experiences, she is dedicated to minimizing suffering by sleep patients. Her chosen tools are education, awareness, and support.

In 1997, Tracy took her body of knowledge and experience and published it as "Tracy's Story". It is a story of hope and victory for the sleep afflicted person. She then took one bolder step by making herself available to counsel, free of charge, people who have sleep disorders.

To date, Tracy has received hundreds of responses to her story and has followed each with a kind note and words of encouragement and instruction. This has formed the nucleus of a growing online following.

Talk About Sleep is the next evolution of Tracy's sleep mission. While doing the same valuable work, Talk About Sleep provides a larger stage from which to operate and a vast array of new tools. Although her core goals remain unchanged the message can be conveyed to a larger audience generating additional knowledge, awareness, and support for sleep disorder sufferers.
