Hey Mango, I can tell you with 100% confidence that my second pregnancy is what triggered a severe worsening in symptoms. Prior to my pregnancy I was able to accompany my oldest on field trips, work and do volunteer work. After having my second I started having attacks on top of one another!! I don’t know if the two that took me back to the docs were cat or what, but they scared the hell out of me.

I wasn’t on any maintanance meds before and now I’m on dex 15mg 5xDay!! With very little relief. I’m still however looking into more on the head injury aspect of this beast. Looks like it’s a compounding factor. But I’ll tell you, my first pregnancy, looking back seemed to worsen some of the problems, but at the time I had an active case of Grave’s disease as well and didn’t know about the narcolepsy.

It got to the point that my muscles were so weak that I couldn’t carry him, I had to crawl up the stairs and crawl to my book case to get off the ground. It was awful. But even after the first, I held down 3 jobs for a while and worked at least one nearly full time and was never as bad off as I am now.

I don’t know if that answered your question or not, if not, I’m really open about that stuff, feel free to ask anything….after two kids, you lose most of the embarassment factor.
