Hehe, I didn't notice this forum, so I already posted in the Narcolepsy Forum... oh well, can't hurt to post again!

I was hoping that fellow Narcoleptics from the metro Detroit area would be interested in forming a support group... Anyone interested?

I have a gentleman from the Rochester, MI area who is looking for a support group. I am not familiar with your state....is Rochester near any of your cities?

Please email me if you have information on N support in or near Rochester...thanks so much!

There are tentative plans to start a Narcolepsy support group in the Detroit Area through the DMC sleep labs.

We are starting an awake group soon and as soon as this gets under way they will look at Narcolepsy and perhaps RLS.

I can put you in contact with the people organizing the group, THey are looking for volunteers to help organize the group.

email me at TASsleepy@talkaboutsleep.com

Hello all,

Sorry to have "fallen asleep" on this board for a while, it happens! Wink

I e-mailed Tracy and Jeanne requesting the contact info for the Rochester, Michigan person looking for a support group as I now live in that area. I work in Downtown Detroit (talk about a gas guzzling truck!!!!), so would also be interested in being put in touch with DMC sleep labs to initiate something in the Metro area.

If anyone else in the Metro area wants to be involved please don't hesitate to post. I promise I won't go a year in between responses! Maybe a couple days! Smile

I'm going to be moving to Ohio about an hour from Detroit. I'd love to be part of an N group after my move!

Okay, I know the thread on this post is forever old, but I NEED a support group. I'm in Metro Detroit and live very close to Warren. I'll try the e-mail addresses above, but I'd love to hear more about these support groups.

Thanks,

Danielle

Hi Danielle,

Sorry, fell asleep for a few years! I'm still in the Detroit area, actually not far from you. I'd still be interested in forming a group, or at least exchanging contact information. I know it's not easy to keep up on commitments with our disorder - one of the most frustrating things to me!

Hello!

I must admit, I don't have narcolepsy. I do have Idiopathic Hypersomnia and am desperately looking for a support group. I've heard from other IH people that N support groups and forums are a great place to start since the two disorders are so similar.

I'm currently a student at Oakland University (Rochester) and I'd be willing to drive for a support group. Please let me know what I can do to help!
