| I have both fibromyalgia and Restless Legs Syndrome. I take Mirapex and Klonopin for the RLS and sleep, Wellbutrin in the am. But I'm not sleeping well right now and the fibro pain and fog are bad. Does anyone else here suffer from both and what works for you? The RLS is under control for the most part. I could really use some ideas! |

I understand what you're going thru.
What helped me the best was getting on xyrem. It really does get me into the much needed delta wave sleep. Even when I was on such a low dose I only got 3 hours sleep, I woke up alert and stayed more alert all day and had more energy and less pain. It's not a cure-all, but close: I give it an 80% for alleviating fibrofog, somewhat less for FM pain and energy. Even when I was on Klonopin, Ambien, and Trazodone all together, I didn't get deep wave sleep.
Have you had a sleep study? As a first step, it would show how much delta wave sleep you get. |

| Yes, actually I have had 3 sleep studies done. All I got from them was that I have hypopnia and so am using a CPAP machine. The doctor told me to lose weight and come back in 6 months. I am not that over-weight so I figured if that was his answer to my problems, I wasn't going back. There is no doubt that exces weight contibutes to the problems but give me something to work with while I try to lose weight. I actually lost 20 lbs but it hasn't seemed to help. Thank you for responding. You are the only one from two different discussion boards that has answered me so far. |

You're welcome.
Actually, this FM forum is not real well supported, but this site has more user experience with xyrem than anywhere else I know of.
The Immune support site is the busiest forum for FM maybe on the planet. It actually gets overwhelming, there's so much information. Don't want to detract from this site, it's great, but if you want questions answered concerning FM, you might want to post it there. |
