Portage County (Ohio) Sleep Support Group

The Portage Area Sleep Support Group will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 7:00 pm in Room 25 on the ground floor of the Medical Arts Building on the campus of Robinson Memorial Hospital; 6847 North Chestnut Street; Ravenna, Ohio.

Any one with a Sleep Disorder (such as Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Hypersomnia, Narcolepsy, Restless Leg Syndrome, Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, etc), their adult family members and those who care for them are encouraged to attend.

Finally, I made it to the Portage County meeting. I'm a smidge too far to the west to be N.E.Ohio; but this- -at 80 miles each way- -is still the closest support group. Despite the distance, I was only 5 minutes late.

As it turned out, all 4 of us are PWN (TASramon's wife doesn't have a sleep disorder). So our info-sharing and stories mostly had to do with Narcolepsy. There was no speaker or audio-visual presentation, this time.

Since life throws more problems at us than just our sleep disorders, we talked about various difficulties: other health problems, bad storms we've experienced, etc.. Two of the women enjoy scuba diving or at least used to.

There's always more to learn about each other than the usual list of symptoms and date of diagnosis. The meeting made me feel less alone. PWN understand!
