Hello All,
Anyone know of any good Dental Docs in the Los Angeles area? I am having a heck of a time complying with my CPAP therapy. I made a DIY device for stopping mouth leak thanks to this board. It improved my energy greatly. But the machine is clunky, heavy, loud, and just a general pain in the arse for me and my beautiful partner.
I have had a sleep study and I have very minimal insurance. No dental. So preferably someone who I could bill through my insurance.
Thanks all,

Hi DH, try this link to find a sleep dentist in your area:

American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
You may have trouble finding one that will file a claim with your insurance. A lot of the dentists seem to want the money upfront and for youto try to get reimbursement. You could always try to get preapproval, but even then the insurance companies do not seem to pay in full. Therefore, if money is a problem try a search on the dental board for a device called a Somnoguard. There are several postings regarding this device. It is a self-made device that is similar to the custom made ones, and alth bulkier it seems a much more equitable solution if your strapped for the cash upfront.
I know that I was a little dubious about all the money for these devices at first, but I can tell you after you've tried one and it works for you it really doesn't seem quite so bad!
It's nice to see you thought to visit us here in the "outerlands" and welcome.
Good luck if you try this road and keep us up to date on your progress and we'll try to answer any other questions you might have.

Thanks Limey,
Thanks to you I searched and made an appointment and will definitely update the board if and when I try what I try. It's been such a valuable resource for me, I would love to give something back.
