I had to resign/retire from my job this week. I didn't want to do this but could see no other option as I can't stay focused to do the job I was doing let alone drive 17 miles in heavy traffic.
I'd been cutting back on my medication for several weeks when I found out I couldn't get it any longer. I was spending more time in my car than working.

I hadn't worked since the end of January after a car accident & running out of medication for Narcolepsy/EDS a week later.
I applied for SSD in February.
My doctor has me on Wellbutrin but I still can't function well. I also have physical problems, mainly spinal.

I have my first appt. with psychologist next week & would like some pointers & what to expect.

Pricilla;
How are things going with you now?

I know others will appreciate hearing about your experience with disability filing...

Thanks

Not much has changed. I had an appointment with a psychologist for SS.
I'm sure I flunked that with flying colors. Embarassed I couldn't remember almost anything he asked & was almost in tears telling him this was not the real me any longer.

While I'm still able to do some genealogy research I try to stay off the computer as much as possible....long story short...I still smoke. I sleep more if I don't smoke but at this stage of my life I think it better to sleep than smoke. I still have no CPAP machine...waiting to hear about funding for that too.
Next week I go back to the neurologist. He wants to see me monthly while I wait for a decision from SS.
While I was there waiting the last time 3 people came in separately. They were discussing a case & am thinking they were talking about someone who had applied for SS disability.
I won't be able to go back to see this doctor until September. I'm certain he's not going to appreciate this at all as it's money in his pocket virtually free for doing nothing.
