So my symptoms of SP started about when I was ten (now 22) and have been rapidly progressing over the last 3 years or so. About three years ago I started getting auditory H, and then about a year ago I started to get visual ones. Starting a few months ago I began feeling these "things, or people" touching me. This always only happens to me in a state of SP. This makes SP a million times scarier.

Does anyone else experience these tactile hallucinations? I used to think it was actually my cats but then i've woke up in time to see they aren't even in the room.

As with my other symptom progression my lucid dreams have come to be completely realistic down to my being able to feel myself touching someone and telling them I know they're not real at the same time. (Lucid dreams are the only thing I love about this disorder. It's my fantasy world where I have super powers and never feel bored or tired...)

I've done that a few times. Usually I wake up, unable to move, to feel a person playing with my hair. Its the middle of the night, its dark, its scarey! Then I realize that the reason I can see this person is because he is standing in front of a window (there wasn't a window therre), and my dog was asleep on my bed. I had a 100 pound dog that would NOT be asleep if a stranger came in the house! /But it is really scarey when it happens.

i also see dark figures in my doorway, at the end of my bed, in my closet, they stand at different locations....but also sometimes feel like someone is pushing down on my chest, hands around my throat, touching my leg....at the same time being unable to move or speak cuz of sp....pretty freaky

I am new to the board-just diagnosed earlier this year- and SP is one of my worst symptoms. It happened frequently that I would feel (and often see) someone sitting on my chest. It's really terrifying. It's interesting that Willow2007 mentions a dog. I was just saying today that my dog, who I've had for about a year, has been like a service dog for me. In the past when I would have SP or auditory hallucinations, I was sure someone was in my house and usually woke up in a panic. Now that I have a dog, I know that she would be barking if someone was really in the house. It's been a tremendous help!

I used to get the weight on my chest feeling, but haven't felt that in for a while. I think that happens when panic sets in during SP and I no longer panic during SP. It scared the crap out of me for years, but eventually I just got used to it. I have had some crazy hallucinations though.

I remember when the pole to the window curtain above my bed came alive and tried to poke a whole through my head! Shocked

Sometimes I see strange people in my doorway or at the foot of my bed. Sometimes I change around the room around me in my mind into another situation entirely. Like last night, I had my eyes open looking out my bedroom window and it became a double sliding glass rear door to some strange house I've never been in before. It felt so familiar during the SP though. I knew there was a circular wooden dining room table in that room. I knew where the kitchen was and everything, but I swear I have never been in a house like that before... It's so strange! Rolling Eyes

I've also had hallucinations while not in SP aswell. I'm just usually really tired when it happens. Like the other day I saw this piece of small paper floating above me as if suspended by spider web. It then floated around for a bit and then materialized into a small chunk of the wall that is missing. Again, so strange! Just really vivid hallucinations! I've also seen a fairly big, very vivid spider web above my kitchen counter a few times.

Like I said, SP hallucinations used to scare the crap out of me, and now I barely even notice it. I'm just so used to it.

Yep, definitely have had the tactile hallucinations - have had sight, hearing and touch.

Quite often used to have an animal (or procession of them) walking down my bed over me, always head to toe.
One night, I had an argument with the Old Hag and when I told her that I knew she wasn't real, she bit me on the shoulder and said "I bet that felt pretty real, didn't it?"
Another night, I was being suffocated by something pushed into my mouth, and I could feel exactly the texture of the gag.

I've also heard people outside my bedroom window, seen and heard people in my room talking about me and so on. Familiar enough stuff to most here, I think.

Cheers
Steve
