I remeber last fall there were slew of individuals who were going to have Pillar done.
There is no word back from any of them except stooby, RickRed and both were partially kind of successful. What happened to majority of them? Cured, had severe reaction or not worthy to come back and report of just plain "don't care'??
I am afraid this trend will contiue regarding Pillar. Paul and Stoby and Rick are the best in terms of selfless contributions. Why others don't come out and at least post the post-psg results? |

Tutu,
Keleih just had the procedure done....hasn't had the post-op PSG, obviously.

It's at least 90 days till the PSG.
Remember, unless someone has Type I OSA (palatal obstruction only, about 5% of patients), they are not going to be cured by the Pillar alone because the tongue is still in the way. Pillar will take care of the palate only.
The vast majority of us are Type II (palate & tongue, about 80% of patients), and will require a dental device in combination with Pillar.
Those who are Type III (tongue obstruction only) will not benefit from Pillar at all, and only require a dental device.

Here is the post I made a while ago about how my procedure went and how I'm doing. I think it kinda got lost in the posts.
It logged me out when I was typing it so it's posted as 'guest' (about the fourth post down). I still haven't gotten a follow-up sleep study or scheduled one. I'm feeling much better and my apnea was mild to begin with. My original sleep study was such a horrible experience, that I'm trying to avoid another one at all costs.
Also, the only treatment I've had for my apnea is the pillars. My apnea doesn't bother me enough to use CPAP and I cannot use dental devices since I have TMJ and orthodontic work.
