Just got back from having the pillar. What a breeze if this thing works as well as the procedure I'm blessed. I just also scheduled my speto/turb reduction which is very needed the Ent couldn't even get the scope down my right nostril today.
Anyone who had the pillar know anything I should do or avoid today or tomorrow. I have soreness when I swallow but not much other yet and I havent even taken a pain pill. |

| Iced tea really helped the soreness and bruising for me. Other than that, it was a really easy healing process. ^_^ |

I had the same thing happen. I told my doctor and he said just to keep an eye on it and that is was nothing to be too concerned about.
It ended up going away on its own after several days. |

| woke up this morning at 10AM its a Saturday and only remember waking once last night. no sweating, covers still on the bed. I know these things take a while to work fully but this is encouraging. I can't use CPAP I always take it off in the night and this was the best sleep I've had in a long time. |

Just be careful in evaluating the pillar results so early on. Just like you, I had about 2 weeks of great sleep right after the surgery. Then a serious regression for the next couple of months, falling back to pretty lousy sleep. I think there may be some effect of the post-surgery swelling of the palate which keeps your palate from dropping. Doctors claim you won't see any permanent results until about 8-12 weeks into it.
Even after 90 days, although my sleep was better, it still wasn't great. 90 day sleep studies confirmed a 50% reduction (from 36 RDI to 18), but 18 will still make you feel pretty crummy when you get up each morning. I've since added a dental device, and have reached the top of the mountain. Unless your obstruction is solely in your palate, and this is the minority of cases, you will need additional treatment with the pillar.
So, hang in there, but just temper your expectations. For most people, this is not a "one and done" surgical cure. |

| Great, but only by combining the pillar with a dental device. Sleeping has been great. Someday modern medicine will figure out how to surgically remove the tongue from the equation, but until then I'm a convinced dental device user. |
