I live in Bangkok, Thailand and had the Pillar procedure performed in Singapore yesterday. I had no problem flying back yesterday, except for quite a bit of pain when
swallowing and talking. Today I amazingly have no pain at all. However, when I got back last night and looked at the wounds in my mouth I noticed that they were further apart then I was expecting.

When I measured the 2 mm puncture wounds, the edge of the outer two wounds was
18 mm apart, while the Restore website seems to indicate that it should be 10 mm or less. The insert on the right is 8 mm away from the center insert, and the one on the left is apx 4 mm away.

On their website they write that:

"Histological results confirmed that the inserts should be placed as close as possible without touching to achieve maximum stiffening. An insert needs to be less than 2 mm away from an adjacent insert in order to achieve the fibrotic extensions which contribute to lateral stiffening, effectively making a bridge of stiffer tissue between the two inserts.

The closer the inserts are, the better chance they have of being implanted into muscle
tissue which results in the maximum fibrotic response. In glandular tissue, the fibrotic
capsule is very thin and doesn't stiffen the surrounding tissue as effectively."

I'm still waiting to hear back from both Restore and the doctor, as it is now the weekend. Anyone else experience anything like this? I have heard that Restore will provide one free insert in case there is an extrusion or improper placement, but I am not sure about two. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Shocked

I was very interested in what you said in your posting.
I am interested in having the Pillar Procedure to reduce my sleep apnea.
Therefore I was very concerned when I read what you had to say.
Please keep us all informed as how Restore Asia handles your case.
I hope it all works out well for you.
