Central Sleep Apnea

My husband has been dx with Mixed Sleep Apnea, but his Dr. says 70% is central. He snores very loudly, grinds his teeth and usually wakes up in a very very bad mood. He has tried CPAP, BIPAP and Oxygen, but he always seems to take his mask off - so I don't think they are helping a whole lot. He just went back to the Dr. yesterday and he is going to a sleep center to try different masks. Over the years I believe he has been drinking to try to help him sleep, but I think this may be making it worse. His Dr. gave him Klonopin also to use - which increases effect of drinking. We have not slept together in about 3 years now b/c of the snoring. Is there any hope here? I know you can have surgery to help with obstructive apnea, but is there anything you can do for central?
Help please - I don't really understand all this and something has to change - I don't have his #'s from his study, but his DR said it was the worst he had ever seen.

This message likely got missed by most of the group that talks snoring and apnea because it was posted on chit chat. Whether obstructive or central, should have been posted on the apnea forum. If you repost there, I'm sure you'd get more responses.
