Prepare to change your clock on Sunday, March 14, 2010 as daylight saving time begins at 2 am. We lose an hour of sleep. Sleep is an activity most of us take for granted yet it is as essential as the air we breathe.
Prepare to change your body clock by trying to get an extra hour of sleep in the nights preceding and following the time change. Short daytime naps lasting less than 90 minutes are helpful. Naps too close to bedtime may cause fragmented sleep and actually worsen the sleep wake cycle. Exposure to sunlight in the early morning hours will also help reset your body clock.
Wishing you great sleep!

I hate when this happens. It stays light till 10:15 pm. at my house in the summer.
And it's light by 4 am.
I sleep very little anyway. And if it is light out , well forget it.
I am doomed* |

Jack, where do you live that it is light out until after 10 in summer and sun up at 4am?
I cannot sleep well unless my room is completely dark. In your situation, do you use special black out curtains so you are not prematurely awakened in the morning hours?

Well the sun goes down about 8 pm but it is light outside till 10:15 pm.
I could go outside at 10 pm and still easily mow my lawn.
And it is getting light enough by 4 am to do the same thing , even though the sun isn't visable in the sky till atleast 5.00 am or so.
I am in washington by the Idaho border
No , we don't have Black Out Curtains. They would have to be 6 inches thick for me not to see light coming thru them.
Even sticking my head under the covers isn't helpfull.
Summer time is bad for me for sleeping. Way too light out.
There is only 6 hours of REAL dark time where I am at. |
