came up on this site :http://www.insomniacure.com/

I've heard about the book before, but never looked into it. As with any of these sites, there's the list of folks saying they were cured after 20 years of insomnia, etc.

Wonder if any of you folks read this, maybe any success stories?

Hi

Yes, I read it a couple of years ago.

It's basically a full-on advocacy of sleep-restriction.

The author spends about 200 pages telling you to go to bed and get up at the same time each day. I wouldn't bother spending the money if I were you. You can find loads of free information about SR on the internet if you think it might be useful to you.

SR has done nothing for me, but then I've slept badly since childhood - before I was old enough to get stressed and into bad sleep habits, caffeine and all the other things that are commonly blamed for insomnia.

What a funny way to describe that author spending 200 pages telling people to go to bed and get up at the same time each day. Just one line from you Louise finishes what the whole book is talking about. Laughing Hi Rudy, you can actually find such SR information on this site itself at

=> http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/circadian-rhythm-disorders/circadian-rhythm-sleep-disorders/08-sleep-restriction-therapy-when-nothing-else-works.htm

I've actually used some of these tips myself of my own accord without reading any of them before. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You just have to find a sleep solution that works best for you, but please, no drugs.
