I m getting worse through the years and the docs say it is not possible. i have IH, and lately i ve been getting asleep while walking and riding. And this is quite dangerous. i ve been lucky not having major injuries than cos of falling but one day a car can run over me. i dont get meds, cos there arent here in my country. Have any of u experienced symptomes like mine? Do ppl with IH get worse through the years? what can i expect next years?

Three years ago I was in a bicycle accident. I wasn't wearing a helmet (doh!) and I somehow crashed in the middle of a pretty low-traffic street on the way to work in the morning. I don't remember how it happened because I broke my skull & ended up with a subdural hematoma... and I just never remembered how it happened.

A short time later, I finally found out I had a sleep problem & was diagnosed with IH. Within a year it became clear I had narcolepsy.... but yeah, I suspect that I fell asleep while riding my bike.

Out of curiosity, which docs say it isn't possible? Did this doctor sleep through the sleep disorder section of med school?
