Hiya!

I thought that we could all have a chuckle to ourselves about what we have done in our sleep. I know that its a serious subject but I dont know about you, some of the things I have done are quite ridiculous! So, I thought I would share some with you and if you like, you can do the same?

When I was fifteen, I used to live in a dormer bungalow (a one storey house with a drop down ladder into the loft made into a bedroom) where the ladder was extremly steep - almost vertical. For some odd reason, every night I would get up at 2am, drop the stairs down, run down them and then have a shower. You would think that the water would wake me wouldnt you? Well it never did and my mum used to have to stop me from putting my school uniform on every morning after my shower! Its a good job she was there otherwise I could have been 7 hours early for school!!

Quite recently I woke myself up from sleep walking in my bedroom. One night I found myself UNDER the bed looking for my passport so that I could go on holiday. The next night I found myself under my bed looking for my suitcase (to go on the imaginary holiday) and then the following night I successfully found my suitcase and my passport and woke up packing all my clothes!!! hahahahahah! I could have woke up on a plane! How funny is that???

Quite regularly, I wake up and I'm feeling the walls - I'm looking for things (I cant remember what though) and the walls apprently are where to find these mysterious objects. There has been many a time where my then-current partner has asked me what the hell I'm doing!

I have once broken up with my (ex!) boyfriend in my sleep. I told him that I didnt like him anymore and that I want him to go. He was so convinced that he went! In actual fact, I felt that way in the day but didnt have the confidence to break up with him. I guess in my sleep I did have the confidence!!

Any of you got any funny stories to tell?

My husband used to have a dreadful sleepwalking problem which has disappeared in the past few years...Once he woke up and he had actually phoned someone in his sleep.

He also did strange things, like unplug his lamp each night, and strip his bed, fold the blankets and sheets and put them in the closet.

Lol at Rach - I used to get ready for school all the time when I was little, and I still wake with all my clothes on! Sometimes none at all only my socks.

The two most embarrassing sleep wlaking occurances happened at my best friends house a few years back. I watched Jurassic park 2 in the cincema and had a nightmare that T-REX was chasing me. To get away, I had to climb up onto some stools in a disco bar (!?), but at the bottom of these was my friend pulling me down so that T-Rex would eat me. Lo and Behold I woke up ontop of my friends wardrobe, he was pulling my leg to get me down again.

Second, he had a very very strict father. Another time, I just grabbed the duvet and dropped it in the middle of the staircase and headed back to bed. At breakfast, the father was going nuts as hed almost tripped down the stairs and was DETERMINED to find out who done it.... Then I remembered my lack of duvet on waking! Ooops.

Apparently when I was younger (around 7), my mother noticed me wandering around the house late at night, she followed me, and found me sitting on the toilet, fully clothed, just sort of hanging out, twiddling my thumbs.

A few months ago, a friend and I went to the Renaissance Fair (if your not familiar, it's a big festival). At the Fair, they have places called "guilds". Well that night, the two of us shared a bet. Apparently I woke him up during the night, perched on my elbows, eyes wide as saucers, and mumbled something to him. He asked me to repeat myself, and so I did. "I payed for lunch" I said. "I payed for lunch at the guild." He said a confused "ok" and smiled. I smiled back. He laughed, and I giggled back. I began snoring before my head even hit the pillow.

My wife and I are sitting here watching TV and my son wanders out of his room, turns towards the Kitchen. She asks him if he is going to the bathroom but he turns away from there. Then turns around and goes towards the bathroom but stops short. Backs up an comes over to climb into his Mothers lap.

Bemused she hugs him and asks if he needs to use the potty, he grins and wiggles down off her lap. Again heading to the bathroom

I say, "He's asleep"
"No way."
"I really think he's sleepwalking."

She goes in to him and asks how he's doing, he grins. Stands up off the toilet (apparently not used), tickles the towel on the way out and jumps into his Mothers arms. She takes him to bed, lays him down. Tucks him in.

"Night, night. Sleep well" He giggles, grins and snores.....
Wife says, "That is so wierd.... I hate it when your right".

My son who is now 15 went camping when he was 12. The tent he was in had about 8 cots. In the middle of the night he started sleep walking. He got into the junior counselors bed. When the counselor returned from the bathroom my son was in his bed. Was he pissed !!!! My son didn't remember a thing. The counselor was maybe 15 or 16 years old. He may never have experienced sleep walking before.

Sleepwalking is rampant in my family, so it has never been anything unfamiliar to us. I not only sleepwalk, but have family members and friends that sleepwalk. Makes for great entertainment!

My best friend was spending the night when we were kids and we "camped out" in our sleeping bags on the living room floor. My Mom says that in the middle of the night she got this feeling that someone was watching her and woke up to my friend standing at the end of my parents bed. Mom asked her "Is everything ok?" and she just stood there, then dropped to the floor, grabbed my parents comforter off the bed and crawled down the hallway. My Mom followed her and found her curled up on the living room floor with her blanket!!

When I was younger, I sleptwalked into the bathroom and sat fully clothed on the toilet. Spent the entire night there. My Dad came in that morning and found me. I couldn't remember how I got in the bathroom, but I did remember seeing Santa Claus!!

And the best for last... When we first moved into our 1st house, a 2-story, I realized that my son was a sleepwalker (good timing, right?). I was at work one night and get a phone call from my boyfriend, who was definitely a little ticked off. He was ranting and raving about how my son got up, walked down the stairs - past the bathroom, turned the corner and came into the kitchen, pulled down his pants and peed in the dog's water bowl!!! He was convinced that my son had done this on purpose!
I had to point out to my boyfriend that sleepwalking runs in my family and that apparently the little guy has picked it up also. The males in the family seem to start right after they are potty-trained (he was 3) and the sleepwalking starts with them attempting to get to the restroom. Unfortunately, the boys tend to miss the restroom altogether and end up whizzing in boots, trashcans, hallways, and now dog bowls!

Hey, it could've been worse! I had an uncle that peed in his own boot while sleepwalking and didn't know. The next morning he went to put on his boots and found a nice wet mess!! Laughing

When my son was a preschooler he got out of bed came down to the kitchen, and proceeded to try to pee into my pots and pans. I directed him to hit one pan not the whole cabinet full of pans.
My friends son while sleepwalking came into her kitchen opened the fridgerator, and sprayed all the food. Embarassed

Shocked Surprised I work at a Group Home with, mildly retarded, adults. I'm the staff who has to stay over-night with the clients. Last night, I had a first hand demonstration of what someone is capable of while sleepwalking, to my surprise. Surprised At about 11:45 PM, I heard one of the clients walk into the kitchen, which is adjacent to the staff bedroom, so I looked out to see who it was. I wasn't even aware that he was a sleepwalker. I saw him take the lid off the kitchen trash can, with one hand, and begin urinating into the trash can, Shocked shocked, I asked him why he was peeing into the trash can; his reply was "I don't know", so I told him the bathroom was at the other end of the house, and to go to the bathroom instead. He said, "okay", stopped what he was doing, replaced the lid, and went to the bathroom instead, to finish what he had to do. I was tired, and just put the whole trash can outside. In the morning, he asked me why the trash can was outside, I said, don't you remember, which of course he didn't, so I told him what occurred the night before. He got a chuckle out of the whole incident, and volunteered to wash the trash can out. From reading, other posts, I see that this level of activity is not unusual for sleepwalkers, but having never seen it before I was really shocked by his interaction with me, yet having no memory of the incident at all. Is this typical? BTW, I'm a hosehead, from another part of this site, who just happened to be shocked last night, unexpectedly.

Reading the other entries SURE made me feel better this morning. I see I am not ALONE!
This morning my husband asked me if I remembered what I did last night? He found me in the dark living room corner hunkered down around our mid size clock radio that I had unplugged and taken there to "fix". He said the glow on my face from the light of the clock was scary.

I have a few interesting stories. All of my sleepwalking incidents happen when I am not in a place I normally sleep. I seem to sleepwalk at least once every time my family takes a trip to Hawaii. We have been 3 times.

The first time we were staying in a hotel and I woke up outside the door to our room. Unfortunately, these were the types of doors that automatically lock behind you. Fortunately, we were on the ground floor and I could walk around to our little personal patio and I slept outside for a while. I actually brought my pillow with me. Maybe I was planning on camping outside while I was asleep.

The second was a different hotel and we were on a high floor. Again, I wake up outside the door to our room, this time with no pillow Crying or Very sad . Same type of auto locks. I didnt want to have to sleep in the hall since people would probably see me, so I had to go down to the lobby in my pajamas and get a security guy with keys to take me back up to my room. He had to wake up my brother to confirm that I was actually staying in that room.

The third trip, I decided to put a key to the room in one of the pockets of my pajamas before I went to bed. I didnt try to leave the room this time, but my brother does tell me that I got out and started searching through my bags for something. He tried to tell me that I was sleepwalking and I argued that I wasn't. He says eventually I gave up and went back to bed.
