I have had the hardest time describing this, and an even harder time searching online for a possible explanation. It has happened for the past 6 years or so on such a regular basis that it's more typical for me to see it than to not.
When I wake up and open my eyes, or sometimes as I'm ready to go to sleep, I see a cluster on the wall, usually near the ceiling. It's an abstract shape that looks like a big spider or a mass of black string. I can't describe it any better. It moves across the wall along the ceiling. Sometimes it disappears, and sometimes it actually looks like it falls. Even after seeing it for so many years I have had moments where I've jumped out of bed and turned the light on, convinced there is a 6" spider somewhere.
When this first started occurring, the shape looked like a swarm of tiny bugs, that hovered in the air and floated into the wall I was looking towards. It looked like it hit the wall, then fell to the floor. It was the exact same image over and over. Then a few years ago the vision changed, and instead of floating fuzzies, it is more dense and looks like it was running across the wall where it meets the ceiling.
I'm desperate for an explanation, or even some ideas of how to do an internet search on that kind of experience. |

Hi,
Read your post and want to say that I too have experienced seeing spiders like you described. It's been a few years but it was alarming and confusing time for me. I have sleep apnea, (diagnosed the first part of this year) so maybe seeing the spiders is related to falling asleep and waking up. I don't know. But I can certainly relate to your experience. At times I would wake up screaming, waking up my family but not remembering what made me scream. It was embarrasing to say the least. After acouple of years the screaming stopped. Thank goodness. But I remember the spiders very well, they were so disturbing always changing forms, falling from the ceiling, climbing the walls, etc. I have severe sleep apnea and I'm now being treated with a BIPAP 2,( had a CPAP before.) I have adjusted to the nasal mask and I feel alot better. I wish you luck on your search, remember you are not alone when it comes to seeing spiders. |

hello,
i have experienced something similar, every now and again.. maybe every month or so i wake in the night convinced there is a spider on the wall or in my bed, i have to get up and put the light on, but soon go back to sleep when im confident there is no spider ...its strange to me because its not the same as a nightmare, the feeling is different |

I too have the same thing myself. I'm not sure why I see spiders because I'm not frightened of them when I'm awake.
I wake regularly (well, not really awake) and see a large spider, a big bug or loads of ants in my bed and I continue to see them for a good 3 mins (which is a long time if you think about it!!) before I realise that they are not there. Sometimes I still think they might be there so I check inside my bed, I sweep the covers just in case and then check on the floor. Once I'm convinced that its safe to get back to bed, I'm fine.
Its wierd because I am obviously hallucinating or experiencing sleep walking etc but I remember everything about it and I remember the feelings. Its just my eyes are working properly!!!
I remember when I was little that I used to see a lobster at the base of the bed - I mean, how ridiculous is that!!
I dont live in the sea so how would I possibly have a lobster in my bed! I thought it was sooooo real though and I guess now I'm older I can see why I used to have the visions of them. |

| It is good to know that other people are experiencing things close to what I am. I have been searching for explanations on my symptoms and can't find anything. This is the most similar thing I have seen. I wake up and hallucinate. If I am dreaming of spiders, I look down at my bed and it will be cover with spiders. It is such a frightening experience. I wish I could tell you what causes it. But maybe you will feel better knowing other people have experienced this. If you find out anything else please email me at Thorn0211@aol.com Thanks |

| Wow, I have the same thing. Except it is always yellow almost translucent like blob spiders. They are definately perfectly formed spiders and always coming down from a string of web or whatever. This one time I woke up and saw a huge huge one about the size of two hands (kind of looked like a facehugger alien spider) and I jumped off the couch where I feel asleep and freaked my dad out. |

| I to have seen a giant spider upon waking. It ran across my wall and behind my wardrobe, as it was doing this I remember telling myself thats interesting, you don't get spiders that big anywhere (let alone in Scotland). It was a weird sensation as I knew what I was seeing couldn't be real but I was seeing it and I felt overjoyed during this hallucination (similar to how I did in my post about violence during sleep and seeing a devil like figure hovering in my room). I think I was dreaming about spiders that night though I did recall a dream about them the following day. |

| Very interesting to know there are others! I just happended to do a search on this because I experience the same thing...waking up, seeing 'bugs' on the wall or in my bed and having to jump up, turn on the lights and verify that I was just dreaming. I wear glasses, so by the time I reah for them to focus more clearly and try to find the little buggers, there's nothing there. I've seen things much larger than spiders though...unidentifiable creepy crawlers! |

| I experienced very strange things for years while sleeping. Nobody had answers. I would stay up for days terrified to sleep. I finally found help and real answers. Do you want to know what i found out? Pills and doctors could not help me. Are you ready for the answer? |

| I'm ready for your answer, although I'm afraid it probably won't help me. So far the responses haven't been quite the same thing as what I see and I'm at a loss for how to better describe it. It isn't an actual bug or spider shape. It's more abstracat. This is probably the longest stretch I've gone without seeing them (several months). Maybe they won't come back. |

| I can understand your scepticism. I did not think anyone had answers to what i was experiencing either. I had horrific episodes during sleep that lasted for many years. Doctors had no help for me. Pills were not the solution. I would stay up for days, afraid to go to sleep. Not any more. I found the reason why i had these occurances and how to make them stop. Here is what i found out. First of all, we live in a society that relies heavily on the scientific process. Through tests we formulate resonable ideas. Our society looks at spiritual things as unknowable because there are no measurable or verifiable tests that can be applied to the spiritual realm. I said all that to say this. What you are dealing with is not physical in nature but spiritual. By spiritual i am talking about things that are unseen. Scientists and doctor's (for the most part) reject this subject area. Quacks weirdo's and sensationalists are the labels placed on those who give any credibility to the spiritual world. Are you following me? Your problem lies in the are of the spiritual realm and not the natural realm. The things you are seeing are not strong projections of your overactive brain. They are real spirits. Now the problem is how to make these spirits leave you alone. Are you ready for the answer? Spirits come when opportunity to come has been given to them. I am talking about open doors. Somehow you (or somone very close to you) has opened this doorway. Here are some possible ways this can happen: drug use, heavy rock or satanic music, involvment in the occult (by you or family member), pornography, meditation, yoga, horror movies, certain video games (such as violent, role playing, occultic, fantasy etc.) There are many things that can grant spiritual oppression in a persons life. Oppression means to be tormented, bothered, hounded. Is this how you feel? Certain objects can grant them access: charms, artifacts or relics used in the occult(like an antique or somthing somone gave you. Somehow a link, a connection, a doorway has been established for these manifestations(this means openly visible operation of spirits). Now then, here is how to make them go. Spirits, or more specifically, demons operate on the basis of authority. A traffic cop can stop a semi-truck simply by raising his hand. His hand does not contain any real power. It is the state that backs him up that carries the power. Judges, prosicutors and prisons will make sure that if you run past the traffic cop and kill someone you will get what you deserve. It is the authority the cop weilds that stops the truck dead in its tracks. If you command this thing to go, what do you suppose will happen? I will tell you what will happen. It will not go. Let me ask you, what power or authority do you have in your life? Who will back up your command if the spirit does not obey? only a power greater than the demon could do that right. Let me tell you who is greater than that spirit. Let me warn you, it does not want you to hear this. Whatever negative thing you think or feel when i tell you, please don't listen to it right now. Simply listen no matter what you think you know about this sublect matter. This is who is greater than any spirit: Jesus Christ. What religious background you have does not matter. Only Jesus can make this stop. Jesus will only make this stop if you are his. Do you want to belong to Jesus? He is the son of God, sent to die for the evil we all do. He loves you and will help you if you ask him. Demons are fallen angels whose job is to make sure you go to a literal hell of unspeakable horror. Angels are God's servant's who protect his people. Jesus will send angels to protect you. Also you will be able to command this thing to leave you in Jesus name. He will give you power and authority to make it go! If you are serious about, this is what to do. Get down on your knees in a quiet place and pray to him. Tell him everything that is happening. Ask him to reveal himself to you and to help you. Ask forgiveness for your sin's-breaking ten commandments, evil, selfishness. Then invite him to come into your heart. Do you have a bible. Start reading in the book of John. It's near the front part of the book. The next step is to get rid of everything that may have opened this door. Throw it away. Put it outside of the house, not just another room. This is what happened to me and now i sleep great. If there is a problem, i pray. Jesus is always there for me. He loves me and has taught me to fight. You don't have to stand for this stuff. Jesus loves you and so do i. That's why i took the time to write this. Do you have any questions? |

| I've experienced the unwanted, while wide awake. I was able to effectively "remove" it. That's not what's happening now, but I appreciate you so politely asked permission to continue before you started preaching. Effective tactic. |
