I don't know if I have circadian rhythm disorder. I took the assessment for that condition at appolohealth.com. My result was mild circadian rhythm disorder. I ordered a GoLite and hope it will help.

I fall asleep easily when I first go to bed, but awaken after 2-3 hours. I can generally drop back off, but wake up several more times. When I first fall asleep for the night, the quality feels excellent, but is poor once I start awakening.

Even when my sleep wasn't this broken, I have always felt very tired and had poor concentration in the morning. After lunch, my energy and concentration improves markedly.

I'm also trying biofeedback for broken sleep. I'll post again once I start seeing results.

Thanks, Jane

Jane,

What you are experiencing is probably just a notable shift in your rhythm. Light therapy and hormone therapy may help, but as a last resort you may have to resort to medications and "sleep holidays". I have no treatment for my Non-24 Hour Circadian Rhythm disorder as of now, but on the 10th I should.

i took that golite test too; it said i have extreme circadium disorder. i have tried chronotherapy twice, the second time, the good results lasted 1-2 months, and then i got thown off when things happen- got a cold, played games late at night, etc.

i have succumbed again to dsps, but this time, i feel less depressed than i used to. now i sleep about from 3pm-11pm. i just say whatever!

the reason i think i feel less depressed is because now i am up half the day at least, from 8am-3pm, whereas before, i could sleep from 8am-4/5pm. also this works for me, because then i am up during the day, but then i also get to stay up way late, so it's like killing two birds with one stone.

also this works for me because i like all the hours around the clock except the hours from 5pm-7pm; i think it's because i associate these hours with wanting to get off of work, and getting home from work, and there are no good tv shows on at this time.

i like the early morning hours, like at 4/5am, i like the morning hours, like 7/8 am, i like the afternoon hours, like 12-2pm, and like hours from 8pm and on. i just don't like 5pm-7pm. i am crazy huh?

i have a natural propensity to always want to stay up, and i can always easily get a full night's sleep; because of these two factors, i think that's why if i "let my body" go, my body will do natural chrono itself around the clock, which is what it just does.

before, i have written that my body could not go past the "11am" mark for going to bed. welp, now i can because i sleep at 3pm lol. my body does so much wacky shiit, i am no longer surprised!

i do admit that sleeping at night, and waking in the morning, does feel more refreshing to me, but again, i just say whatever! my body works like this, like clockwork, so, whatever whatever whatever! lol

too much freaking effort for me to sleep like a normal human being. as long as i get my 7-10 hours sleep day/night, whenever, i just say whatever hehe

i am sad i miss my favorite evening shows. now i will need to start recording them.
