ResMed Announces the Release of the S8 Elite and the S8 AutoSet Vantage

ResMed launches its first compact devices to feature integrated humidification with technologies to improve patient comfort and compliance

ResMed (NYSE: RMD) today announced the release of the S8 Elite and the S8 AutoSet Vantage, two new premium devices in the popular S8 platform of compact flow generators. Both devices have the option of fully integrated humidification with ResMed's new HumidAire 3i compact humidifier and feature ResMed's latest compliance-boosting technology, EPR (expiratory pressure relief).

The S8 Elite and the S8 AutoSet Vantage with the HumidAire 3i are ResMed's first flow generators to offer fully integrated humidification in a single, compact system for travel or home use. Both devices include ResMed's new EPR therapy mode, a safe and effective feature specially designed for patients who expect greater comfort from their CPAP therapy. The EPR feature was designed to improve patients' compliance and comfort on CPAP therapy. ResMed's EPR feature includes several settings for health care professionals to adjust patient comfort while maintaining control over their therapy.  The new products are perfect models of ResMed's signature high-end design and function and are among the smallest flow generators on the market.

The S8 Elite and the S8 AutoSet Vantage include all of the premium features of the S8 line, including: the new Personal Assistant patient reminder system; remote data downloading and therapy management capabilities via the ResScan Data Card; 12V and 24V DC power input with 12V DC converter; and automatic power switching.  Both devices integrate fully with the new HumidAire 3i humidifier and do not require a separate power cord. The HumidAire 3i is easy to remove, fill, and clean, which helps improve patient compliance. For maximum comfort and clinical control, the S8 Elite offers a choice of CPAP or EPR mode. The S8 AutoSet Vantage offers a choice of CPAP, EPR, or AutoSet mode.
