Why and For Who: We aim to educate communities about Narcolepsy. One may wish to gain an understanding of narcolepsy for a variety of private or professional reasons. Members of the press may want a story on the weekend's local Boston Sleep Party: our conference about living with Narcolepsy. Graduate students may investigate Narcolepsy as a topic of potential study and research. Professionals in health and education fields can help in the important mission of early intervention for people with uncontrolled sleep-related behaviors, and early diagnosis of sleep disorders such as Narcolepsy.
Narcolepsy Network Inc. (NN) is a national non-profit organization of people living with Narcolepsy who care for people living with Narcolepsy. NN is committed to communication, advocacy, research and education around this rare sleeping disorder. To further its mission, NN sponsors an annual week-end long conference, creating a hub of Narcolepsy awareness and education in a different city each year. This year, we bring Narcolepsy awareness to the Boston area!
People will gather in Boston from all over the country for this year's conference: The Boston Sleep Party. They will come to learn new approaches to living with Narcolepsy; to get the newest information on drug therapies and the latest data on research into the root causes; to enhance their repertoire of energy building techniques; to meet peers who share and understand their experiences. A diverse selection of workshops, lectures, support forums, and activities will be offered at the 2005 NN Conference. Presenters include : Dr. Stephen Amira, , Dr. William Anthony, Dr. Sanford Auerbach, Dr. Michael Biber, Dr. Jim O'Brien, Mark Bronstein, Esq., Dr. Meeta Goswami, Dr. Gila Lindsley, Laraaji Nadananda, Tracy Nasca, Dr. Quentin Regestein, Dr. Michael Thorpy, among others.
