The award was presented at the 52nd International Respiratory Conference of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in Las Vegas , Nevada.

Respironics, Inc., a leading provider of products and solutions to the respiratory care profession received its 10th Zenith Award at a ceremony on December 12, 2006, which opened the 52nd International Respiratory Conference of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Each year, members of the AARC, which is comprised of clinicians and researchers who use respiratory care equipment, devices and pharmaceutical products, choose the recipients through a special ballot vote; the top-five-voted companies receive the coveted Zenith Award.

"It was a banner year for Respironics in 2006 as we surpassed $1.0 billion in revenue, celebrated our 30th year of business and refined the Respironics' brand to represent our growing businesses," said John Miclot, president and CEO. "We are honored and thankful to our customers and the respiratory profession for bestowing us with yet another milestone, our 10th Zenith Award. We look forward to a tremendous 2007 as we continue to bring innovative products, outstanding service and valued solutions to the market."

Nearly 400 companies, including manufacturers, service organizations and supply companies, were nominated. The award recognizes providers based on the quality of their equipment and/or supplies, accessibility and helpfulness of their sales personnel, responsiveness, service record, truth in advertising and their support of the respiratory care profession. The election process makes the award one of the most prestigious in the respiratory care profession.

"The AARC Congress would not be what it is today without the tremendous support of the respiratory care industry," said Tom Kallstrom, AARC associate executive director. "Every year the association recognizes top performers such as Respironics with its annual Zenith Awards. Respironics is highly deserving of this award and we are pleased to present this to them," he continued.

The American Association for Respiratory Care, a professional membership association of respiratory therapists, focuses primarily on respiratory therapy education and research. Its goals are to ensure that respiratory patients receive safe and effective care from qualified professionals and to benefit respiratory health care providers. The Association continues to advocate, on behalf of pulmonary patients, for appropriate access to respiratory services provided by qualified professionals.  It established its prestigious awards program in 1989 to honor respiratory care product and service providers who exemplify outstanding service to the respiratory care community.
