New DeVilbiss CPAP Systems Optimize Patient Adherence

Longmont, CO - November 5, 2007

AutoAdjustsDeVilbiss Healthcare announces the introduction of the DeVilbiss® IntelliPAP™ Standard and AutoAdjust® CPAP Systems that incorporate clinician and provider recommendations solicited through research to optimize overall patient acceptance. The IntelliPAP Standard and IntelliPAP AutoAdjust will formally launch in early December.

The IntelliPAP Systems are designed to provide a comprehensive solution - based on a combination of user comfort, patient education and proprietary adherence tracking systems.

Advanced design features include whisper-quiet operation (26 dBA per ISO 17510 testing standards) and an extremely small footprint, with the humidification system attached. The integrated heated humidifier system intuitively docks into the bottom of the IntelliPAP. The humidifier reservoir is easy to remove and replace, is dishwasher safe, and features advanced water ingress protection to avoid water leaking into the CPAP unit.  The unique humidifier design allows for optimal humidification to be generated.

An intuitive, large three-button control panel and easy-to-follow patient menu simplifies operation. The units also feature a delay pressure ramp that slowly brings the machine to the prescribed pressure, allowing users to fall asleep at a lower pressure.

Various tubing length can be used with the unit.  The tubing extends from the back of the unit to minimize clutter and enhance visual appeal.

The IntelliPAP systems are powered by one eight-foot power cord that provides greater positioning flexibility on the nightstand.  Additionally, the IntelliPAP systems feature an internal power supply, which eliminates the need for a power supply attached to the power cord.  This minimizes the bulk of the power cord often associated with competitive units.

The IntelliPAP AutoAdjust unit can be operated in both conventional and AutoAdjust modes. AutoAdjust features include automatic pressure adjustment, adjustable apnea/hypopnea detection, adjustable upper and lower pressure limits, adjustable delay setting and automatic detection of mask conditions.  The AutoAdjust model also integrates with the Nonin® Pulse Oximeter providing up to nine days of data and oximetry reports.

IntelliPAP Systems are accompanied by a fully illustrated patient guide and user video that introduces patients to OSA and CPAP therapy and provides strategies and techniques to ultimately optimize their CPAP therapy and encourage long-term compliance.

DeVilbiss Healthcare develops, manufactures, markets and services a broad portfolio of respiratory products including oxygen therapy equipment, pulmonary drug delivery systems and sleep apnea therapy solutions.
