DeVilbiss Announces “New Day” – New Organization, Management and Product

Longmont, CO - November 5, 2007

DeVilbiss® Healthcare has completed the transitional phase of Sunrise Medical’s organizational restructuring with the creation of separate respiratory and mobility-focused businesses: DeVilbiss Healthcare and Sunrise Medical. The new organization, the introduction of new products and a new leadership team has brought about a new day at DeVilbiss.

Since May of this year, DeVilbiss Healthcare has been solely responsible for the development and sales, marketing and servicing of the company’s broad portfolio of respiratory products including oxygen therapy equipment, pulmonary drug delivery systems and sleep apnea therapy solutions.

“It really is the dawn of an exciting new era at DeVilbiss,” said Kees Regeling, President and CEO of DeVilbiss Healthcare. “In a short period of time, our customers already have experienced the benefits associated with our company’s new autonomy that allows us to be even more responsive to customer needs and market shifts.” Regeling, with 15 years at Sunrise Medical, has served as DeVilbiss Healthcare president since 2006.

New Products and Value-Add Programs at Medtrade

According to Kristin Mastin, Director of Marketing, the company will make a splash at the upcoming Medtrade show in Orlando, FL by exhibiting in their own booth [in past years, DeVilbiss exhibited in the Sunrise Medical booth] as well as introducing several new products at the event. “Our people have a new energy, and I believe visitors to our booth will sense this,” she said. “They will see we’re serious about customer focus and innovation that delivers value and advantages for their patients and businesses.”

“We did extensive research with clinicians and providers in developing these products and incorporated many of their recommendations,” Mastin said.

These additions to the DeVilbiss compressor line offer a highly intuitive design that redefines ease-of-use for young patients and adults alike. “We improved upon our DeVilbiss Pulmo-Aide® compact compressor by adding convenience features, while maintaining superior performance and reliability,” Mastin said.

DeVilbiss 5 Liter Compact Concentrator

This unit is 34% more compact that traditional 5-liter concentrators. Despite the reduction in size, the unit incorporates field-proven internal components for dependability. It’s noticeably quieter and includes the exclusive DeVilbiss OSD (Oxygen Sensing Device) as a standard feature on all units. The 5 Liter Compact Concentrator is pending 510(k) clearance.

DeVilbiss Breathies Bunch™

This childhood asthma program is an educational resource for children with asthma and their parents. It will be packaged with the new DeVilbiss PulmoNeb and includes an informational guide, log book, Breathies stickers, a Breathies nebulizer hugger and educational DVD.
