“I’ll Just Rest for a Moment”Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio State University, 1972. She spent a year at the Cincinnati Art Academy, along with assorted courses at a variety of institutions since then. Professionally Barbara began doing graphic art at a publishing company and advertising agency before committing herself to studio work. She exhibits and sells her work mainly through galleries, but also does private commissions and occasionally freelance graphic work. “I thought the title was humorous because all the times we sleepy people say this to ourselves, and then of course, the “rest” turns into a Big, Fat, Long nap” -Barbara Gilmore Inside message: Blank |

"Believe”When wakefulness allows her, Michelle whiles away the hours in her home studio in Sturbridge, Massachusetts as a calligrapher and glass artist. Michelle’s love for letters began in high school as she often doodled on book covers in attempts to stay awake through class. Many years later, she’s realized her talent as a calligrapher and continues course work with a mentor at a local art museum and with master scribes at national calligraphy conferences. Her work has been exhibited in local galleries. She most enjoys creating one of a kind pieces for family and friends and occasionally does some commissioned work. In her glass work, she particularly specializes in designing one of a kind kaleidoscopes. -Michelle J. Hemingway Inside message: "…and the promise of a Happy New Year" |
