The Bala Institute of Oral Surgery offers a full day symposium on the diagnosis and various treatment modalities of snoring and sleep apnea. The latest research as well as basic concepts in understanding this ever increasing phenomenon of sleep as it relates to medical and dental professionals will be discussed. One intended outcome of this symposium is to offer new concepts to practitioners to guide their patients who suffer from these problems. New insight into the underlying causes of snoring and sleep apnea as well as modern surgical and non-surgical therapies to address this very important issue. The panel of speakers includes Dr. Mansoor Madani, internationally renowned researcher and author and surgeon with over fifteen years of research on sleep medicine, Dr. Stephen Smith, professor of maxillo-temporomandibular disorders at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Dr. Brian Smith, chairman of the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
