DeVilbiss Healthcare Launches SmartLink™ Therapy Management System

DeVilbiss Healthcare announced the release its new SmartLink Therapy Management System.

The DeVilbiss SmartLink Therapy Management System provides a means to remotely monitor patient CPAP usage and evaluate the effectiveness of CPAP therapy. The SmartLink system consists of a SmartLink Module, data card, desktop software, and a data card reader.  Simply attach the SmartLink module to the back of any IntelliPAP® Standard or IntelliPAP® AutoAdjust® and the module will automatically log various parameters of patient usage data.  That data is then deciphered via, simple-to-use SmartLink desktop software installed on the provider or clinicians computer.

“This solution fills out the very popular IntelliPAP line” said Kristin Mastin, Director of Marketing for DeVilbiss Healthcare. “It is clear that we have a home run with the IntelliPAP platform, but our customers required a robust therapy monitoring system that is not only effective and easy to use, but also very cost effective. Since the SmartLink module, which houses the memory, can be moved from patient to patient, our customer is paying only for what they need. If they require proof of CPAP compliance or improvement of condition for 120 days, after those 120 days the SmartLink module and data card can be placed on another patient. Our customers can avoid the extra cost of having built-in memory in the IntelliPAP platform.”

Mastin went on to add “When developing the SmartLink System, our customers expressed concern that they have experienced a loss of data when using competitive solutions that store usage data on a memory card. As such, the data acquired via the SmartLink System will be redundantly logged and stored on both the memory card and SmartLink module, which can store up to 3 years of data. In addition, the SmartLink data card is not proprietary, so users can purchase any standard data card from their local office supply store.”

IntelliPAP Parameters can be adjusted remotely using the data card.

There are two report formats offered via the SmartLink Therapy Management software Summary or Single Night Detail. The Summary report shows data based on a user-selected date range including number of days with any usage, number of days above low-use threshold, and average hours of use per day. The IntelliPAP AutoAdjust SmartLink data also includes AHI, leak percent, and average pressure as well as many other critical parameters. In addition this information can be easily exported into an Adobe® pdf report that includes an automatically generated cover sheet.

The Single Night detail report provides detailed usage and therapy data for an individual night. For the IntelliPAP AutoAdjust, all snores, hypopneas, apneas, exhale puffs and leaks are logged.

In addition, the SmartLink Therapy Module includes a port for an optional Nonin® oximeter. Collected oximetry data can be exported to Nonin nVision® software.
