Instant Diagnostic Systems (IDS) is pleased to announce that it is joining the social web community by launching a new, dynamic & educational Facebook fan page dedicated to its patients. The page will be designed to post topics of interest to patients with sleep apnea including tips from sleep specialists and fellow sufferers, sleep wellness tips, upcoming event information and other ideas to help patients better manage their OSA.
“Social networking sites such as Facebook give us the ability to create a highly dynamic resource which will appeal not just to patients already diagnosed, but family members and those curious about the disorder”, says Landon Pendleton, Director of Product Development for IDS. “Unlike the more focused sites that already exist for information and story sharing, our hope is that we can create something that appeals to a larger fan base and introduces them to the disorder and the challenges that people with it may face.”
Posts will be limited to one or two times a week and will be non-commercial in order to keep the interest up and generate as many interested fans as possible. “We’re really excited about the opportunity to keep in touch with our patients after they are diagnosed through our in-home testing program”, says Laura Trout, Director of Home Sleep Testing at IDS. “It’s our way to show we continue to be interested in how they are doing and reach out to others in the community who are just beginning to learn about the disorder.”
So, if you are on Facebook, search for Instant Diagnostic Systems, become a fan, and invite your friends to join. It should be a great way to raise awareness about sleep apnea by taking advantage of available mainstream social media tools.
