The F&P ICON™ is a quiet, comfortable, visually appealing system, designed to enhance acceptance to CPAP therapy. The F&P ICON™ also includes a digital clock, alarm, and music-playing ability to complement CPAP therapy and remove clutter from the bedside table.
Are looks really all that important? It depends on whom you ask…..
From a clinicians perspective when it comes to machine design whether there is increased CPAP compliance related to the design such as device miniaturization and re-tooling is all anecdotal and untested. Clinicians rely on clinical evidence and the patient’s reported symptoms in order to drive CPAP compliance. Clinicians also rely on the importance of education and device instruction. While all of this is important; to a patient, CPAP usage is personal.
The condition of OSA and the treatment invades the sanctuary of the bedroom. There is an acceptance process not only towards the diagnoses but also to treatment. By combining stylish looks with proven technologies the intent is to provide a less obtrusive device that fits into the bedroom environment and more into your lifestyle. Perhaps acceptance comes before adherence? After all, who said that a medical device had to look like it belongs in a hospital setting?
