ResMed , a leading manufacturer and developer of products for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), announces the release of the Mirage Swift™ nasal pillows system.
Incredibly light, the Mirage Swift weighs approximately 2.5 oz (70 g), making it one of the lightest nasal pillow systems on the market. It rests lightly on the face, with the pillows positioned at the entrance of the nostrils, minimizing facial contact and maximizing comfort.
The system offers interchangeable tube positions for flexibility of use. The Mirage Swift air tube can be used in an up, down, left, or right position, offering patients a greater choice in sleeping positions for the most comfortable night's sleep.
"With the release of the Mirage Swift nasal pillows system, ResMed continues to expand its portfolio of high-quality patient interface options," said Ron Richard, VP of Marketing, Americas . "The Mirage Swift's key attributes address the needs voiced by Home Medical Equipment (HME) providers and patients wanting an alternative to the traditional nasal-interface products on the market."
While light and flexible, the Mirage Swift nasal pillows system still delivers on the ResMed name when it comes to superior performance. The innovative design, combined with the soft and secure headgear, enhances seal and stability, as well as eliminating the need to over-tighten.
The Mirage Swift maximizes CPAP benefits for HMEs and patients. Once adjusted, it can be fitted quickly and easily, without clips or Velcro ® . Additionally, it reduces inventory, as each Mirage Swift ships with three sizes of pillows (S, M, L), eliminating the need for fitting templates. Each product comes packed with its own carry bag, including an educational CD, quick-fit guide, and user instructions.
The Mirage Swift can be previewed at the Associated Professional Sleep Society (APSS) trade show from June 7-9 in Philadelphia , with official release slated for summer 2004. For more information, contact Judi Livengood at (800) 424-0737, ext. 2226.
ResMed is a leading manufacturer of medical equipment for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), which is estimated to affect approximately 20 million Americans. We are dedicated to improving awareness among patients and healthcare professionals of the potentially serious health consequences of untreated SDB and to developing innovative technology to improve the lives of those who suffer from this condition.
