Saatva Graphite Mattress Topper Review
Saatva mattress toppers come in three different options, each of them thoughtfully designed to enhance your sleep experience. The three options are a graphite-infused memory foam topper, a firm high-density foam topper, and a natural latex topper. The main difference between them is the level of firmness they provide for different types of sleepers. All three types of mattress toppers offer pressure relief and back support to increase the quality of your sleep.
The material the toppers are made from varies from one version to another. The Graphite mattress topper has 1-inch graphite-infused memory foam construction plus a 2-inch transitional poly foam to provide structure.
The latex mattress topper features a 1.5-inch ventilated Talalay Latex construction that improves responsiveness and temperature neutrality while enhancing support during sleep.
Finally, the foam mattress topper is constructed with a 1.5-inch-high density polyfoam that makes it a bit springier than the graphite option.
All three versions of Saatva mattress toppers come with the same type of organic cotton cover that provides an excellent amount of airflow while being soft to the touch.
The thickness of the mattress topper varies according to construction. The Graphite mattress topper has a 3-inch thickness, while the other two options, the latex and foam mattress toppers, have a thickness of 1.5 inches.
The Saatva Graphite mattress topper has a firmness level that’s somewhere between soft and medium. The Graphite topper is an excellent choice for side sleepers, but not ideal for stomach sleepers, who are likely to prefer the firm support provided by the other two types of mattress toppers provided by Saatva.
The mattress topper from Saatva is shipped in a cardboard box and will need about two days to expand and off-gas. When you first open the box, you’ll notice a slight chemical smell, but that should completely fade after approximately 48 hours.
All Saatva mattress toppers are CertiPUR-US certified. This means that the foam that’s used in the manufacturing process is free from various harmful substances such as lead, mercury, phthalates, formaldehydes, and flame retardants.

Durability and Warranty
The Saatva Graphite mattress toppers are highly durable, and they come with a 1-year limited non-prorated warranty. You should expect your mattress topper to last well for at least three years, though, especially if you take good care of them.
- Temperature regulation: the Saatva Graphite mattress topper provides a cool night’s sleep by absorbing the excess body heat and feeding it away from the surface of the mattress.
- Removable cover: This is one of the few mattress toppers that comes with a cover that you can take off. The Saatva Graphite mattress topper has a 100% organic cotton cover that is machine washable and dryable once removed. This is one of the best mattress toppers out there for those who are looking for the best ways to keep their bedrooms fresh and clean.
- Dual-layer construction: The Saatva Graphite mattress topper has a high-density layer foam layer for full-body contouring that’s topped with a layer of ultra-soft comfort foam.
Should You Get This Mattress Topper?
The Saatva Graphite mattress topper is an ideal choice for side sleepers of all body types. It works particularly great for side sleepers who weigh under 130 pounds because the topper conforms to the body more for extra pressure relief around the shoulder and hip area.
Consider Your Weight
This mattress topper is ideal for side and back sleepers between 130 and 230 pounds and also offers a good sleeping experience for heavyweight side and back sleepers over 230 pounds. It’s not a great option for stomach sleepers in general, but particularly for those over 230 pounds.
What is Your Sleeping Position?
Side sleepers of average weight are likely to notice significant pressure relief when sleeping on the Saatva Graphite mattress topper. However, average-weight stomach sleepers are likely to notice that their hips are sinking out of alignment with this topper.
Since this topper is one of the thickest available on the market, it’s a great choice for people with a wide variety of sleeping positions and body types.
Even though some light sleepers may feel well supported on this topper, the Saatva Graphite mattress topper is generally not an ideal option for stomach sleepers. This is because the thick memory foam layer will cause the hips to sink in too far.
