If you’re looking for bed sheets that will be easy on your skin while you sleep, you’re in the right place. We handpicked these eight different sheets that are available in most mattress sizes, from twin to king. Please read through each review carefully, so you know what to expect with each sheet (including what makes them stand out and what could improve).
We have also rated and nominated some of the sheets based on the Editor’s Choice, Best Value, and premium pick. To help you choose the best sheet, we have also included a buyer’s guide. If you are pressed for time, we have put together a brief detailed database of the sheets chosen for this review.
First, we have the Molecule Percale Performance Sheets. They are made with Tencel Lyocell material and come in various sizes. You can choose between five different colors that will match your personal style and taste.
If you’re looking for something that will give you excellent comfort and keep you cool, these sheets will be perfect. No more will you have to sweat it out all night long if the room is too hot. It’s also the best sheet if you’re looking for something that is made from eco-friendly materials.
What stands out?
One of the things that we liked about these sheets is that they stay cool, unlike some sheets that will get hot on summer nights. They are light in weight, and they don't feel heavy material-wise. Lastly, they feel really good on the skin (as if it were silk or satin-like when in contact). But they are soft enough even for sensitive skin, which is exactly what you want when other sheets just won't cut it.
What cons did we manage to find?
What may improve is offering some kind of closure that looks like an envelope. This may open the door for an elegant and more finished look. Another thing that can be improved is that it shouldn't make a lot of 'sound' when you're moving around. Some have complained about hearing 'crunching' sounds whenever they would shift positions. If they are soft in material, there is no need for them to make loud noises.
Next, we have the Layla Bamboo Sheets. These are perhaps some of the softest sheets you’ll find up to this point. It’s almost as if you have silk sheets, but they are actually made from 100 percent viscose from bamboo. If you have yet to try out bamboo sheets, you’re in for quite a treat.
These sheets are for you if soft is what you’re looking for. Another thing that you might like is the breathability, which makes it great for those who want nothing but the best in comfort. You’ll feel like you’ll be sleeping on a cloud and keeping cool at the same time. If you’re using cotton sheets, ditch them for these Layla Bamboo Sheets as soon as you can.
What do we love it for?
One thing we’ve liked about them is that these sheets are like light cool blankets. They are so comfortable; you don't want to substitute them for anything else. The sheets have deep corners, so they will stay in place and won't be adjusted all the time. If you hate adjusting sheets because it is a frustrating task, the good news is that the Layla Bamboo Sheets won't give you that much grief.
What were we disappointed with?
Something about these sheets that can improve maybe their durability. For some, it's questionable. Some have reported it easily tearing after a few months of use. Others have pointed out that the stitching appears a little cheap and can easily wrinkle. The durability could use some improvement (as should the stitching). But at the end of the day, there is no denying that these sheets deliver nothing but spectacular comfort.
Now, we’ll be taking a look at the LufF Luxury Tencel Sheets. We once again go back to sheets that are made from Tencel, which is soft like silk but made from sustainable and eco-friendly materials. It’s smooth and gives off that luxurious feel. You’ll sleep like royalty with sheets like this.
If you want sheets that will deliver excellent temperature regulation, these sheets will be perfect. Especially when you want to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, these are the perfect sheets that will serve you well if you hate waking up and you’re dealing with wet sheets due to sweat and moisture. For excellent moisture and temperature regulation, no other sheet comes close.
Why are we impressed?
What we liked about these sheets is that they had extra deep pockets. These are perfect when you want to keep the sheets in place. If you hate having to shift your sheets on a regular basis because you were moving around a lot, you can count on these sheets staying in the same place. With thick full-length elastic, it will be easy to put this sheet on your mattress.
What negatives must you be aware of?
As for what could improve, we didn't see anything that needed major improvement. But we can say that it could be a little softer. For some users, while it doesn't trigger any skin issues, the material may be a little rough. We understand, not all sheets like these won't always be soft. And if you might be hesitant to purchase sheets like these, there are more on the list (and we still have plenty left to go over on the list).
Bamboo sheets may seem to be all the rage, especially when they are nice and soft. You’ll probably think the same if you check out these Simply Organic Bamboo Sheets. These come in three different colors and come in various sizes ranging from Twin to Split King. It’s made from 1000+ thread count Egyptian cotton and has breathable, moisture-wicking material that will keep you cool and not waking up in a pool of sweat every morning.
If you want something that won’t be too rough on your skin, these sheets will be perfect. If you have skin allergies, the bamboo material is proven to never trigger irritation. These sheets are also made to resist all kinds of other allergens such as dust, mildew, dust mites, and more. Allergy sufferers can rejoice with bedsheets like these.
What are our favorite features?
There are some positive things that make these sheets stand out the best. These sheets have that luxurious feeling. Especially when they feel like some kind of silk, another thing we liked is that after they have been washed a few times, these sheets don't lose that softness. Try doing that with standard cotton sheets. We dare say that they won't do anything like that. If you want consistently soft sheets even after they have been washed so many times, these will do just fine.
What could be better?
Where could these sheets improve? This is where we had a lot of difficulties figuring that out. There really isn't anything major that needs improvement. But we could say that these sheets may be a little too smooth or soft for some. And that's OK. Not all sheets like these are created equal. You may feel like you're sleeping on a sheet of ice rather than a cloud. But other than that, you're guaranteed to get a good night's sleep no matter what.
The next sheets that we’ll be looking at are the Amore Beds Luxury Bamboo Sheets. These sheets are silky smooth, hypoallergenic, and made from 100 percent Rayon. If you are looking for sheets that will be perfect for even the most sensitive skin, these sheets are perfect. And best of all, they come with additional pillowcases upon your request. So, you get maximum comfort from head to toe.
These sheets might be your go-to choice if you’re looking for something that will stay soft even after a few washes. If you hate having to deal with moisture and odors, you might consider these sheets as a godsend. The universal fit design may be something up your alley if you hate having to adjust the sheets all the time because you move, toss, and turn while you sleep. The extra-deep pockets will get the job done.
What makes it special?
What makes these sheets great is that they are super soft. And they come in so many different colors. You may have a good idea of what you want your bedding to look like. Everyone has their own tastes and styles. With more colors at your disposal, that may give you plenty of options. Other than that, the pillowcases are just as soft compared to the sheets themselves. If you want to sleep on a 'cloud,' these are the sheets for you.
What cons did we find?
One thing where it could improve is the elasticity of the sheets. They may not stretch out as far as some would like. So, putting them on their mattress may be a little difficult. Some have even said that the sheets may make their mattress a little narrow. This could be due to the lack of elasticity, as mentioned. If they can stretch a little farther and make putting them on less of a challenge, we'd be a little happier.
Up next, we have the eLuxury Bamboo Bed Sheets. These come in three different shades of color: blue, sage, and taupe. Made from ultra-soft rayon, you might find these sheets to be quite the perfect match for your skin, especially when they are created to give you that luxurious touch. And it will make sure that you are waking up refreshed rather than in the middle of the night and you feel hot or cold. The sheets are made from durable round fibers, making the sheets themselves strong for the most part.
If you have a mattress that is measured at 15 inches in depth, these sheets will be perfect, especially if you are looking for something with deep pockets. If quality is something you will not budge on no matter the price, these are the sheets for you. Quality should always matter most, regardless of how much money you’re spending on sheets. It’s the one thing you should never sacrifice for the sake of saving money.
What are its best features?
One thing that we loved about these sheets is how soft they stayed before and after they were washed. If there is one thing that regular sheets are notorious for, it's they lose their softness and quality after they have gone through the wash. With these sheets, that is not the case. These will stay soft for as long as possible. Imagine pulling these out of the dryer, nice and warm. Once you put these back on the bed, the next thing you do is lay down and enjoy the softness and that fresh the dryer feeling. There is no greater feeling than that.
What could be improved?
What can improve with these sheets? Some say that the texture may be a little flimsy. So, some improvements in the overall texture may be a possibility. A few users have reported seeing small holes after about a year of use. Another thing we would love to see is an expanded selection of shades and colors such as white or off-white. Other than that, these sheets are great in terms of softness and temperature regulation. If you're looking for decent-quality sheets that get the job done, you might find the eLuxury sheets to be an excellent choice.
If superior softness is what you want, you get it with the Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Twill Sheets. This is made of rayon from bamboo, which is perfect if you want that temperature regulation feature. You stay warm in the winter or cool in the summer. Nothing more or less. You also get excellent comfort thanks to the material’s breathability and moisture-wicking properties. This also contains natural materials that are hypoallergenic and are guaranteed to be easy on sensitive skin.
The Brooklyn Bedding Bamboo Twill Sheets are the best match if you’re dealing with sensitive skin issues constantly. These sheets on your skin will feel like the best thing ever, no matter how many times you’ve washed them. Maximum comfort and consistent softness are the two things you will get with these sheets. If you don’t want to settle for less than that, you’d be hard-pressed to find sheets like these anywhere else.
What do we love it for?
We love these sheets because they are light, airy, and so much easier on the skin compared to cotton sheets. Overall, they are soft and comfortable. So, you really don't have a lot of issues to deal with. You can easily fit these on your mattress with deep pockets, so you won't have to worry about them coming loose at any point. Who wants to deal with loose sheets every day?
What were we disappointed with?
What should improve is that the stitching can come loose after short-term use. If you know your way around a sewing machine, you may avert this potential crisis if you so choose. Otherwise, you might deal with some tearing after at least six months to a year of use. As far as drying them is concerned, they can easily wrinkle. You may want to run it through a couple of times at low heat with a dryer sheet in order to get all the wrinkles out.
Our last sheets on the list are the Diamond Luxury Tencel Sheet. Made from eucalyptus-based Tencel fabric, you get excellent softness compared to your old sheets. With deep pockets, these can handle mattress depths of up to 22 inches. And you get a universal fit design with the help of an ultra-thick elastic. You get it all with a fitted sheet, top sheet, and pillowcases. You get three colors such as taupe, grey, and white.
These sheets are for you if you are looking for something that might be the closest to luxury. Sleeping on your bed with these sheets will feel like you’re sleeping on the bed of a luxury resort. The only difference is you aren’t spending a lot of money for a few nights because you’re actually at home. So why not treat yourself to a little bit of luxury in the comfort of your own bedroom? You get not just sheets but pillowcases and top sheets. So, you get a package deal as opposed to just the sheets themselves.
What do we love it for?
We love these sheets for so many reasons. One of them is the shades of color that are available. They will make your bedroom setup stand out in the most aesthetically pleasing way. The overall texture is soft and breathable. And it keeps you nice and cool on those summer nights. And it's the closest that you can get to that luxury resort-style. Don't be surprised when you wake up and think to yourself, "uh oh, we got a flight to catch."
What were we disappointed with?
As for what needs to be improved, there isn't much. They may be a little too soft for some users. And they may feel like they'll slide off the bed. But not to worry, they are soft enough on the skin and won't be too rough to the point where they can be a little uncomfortable. Other than that, these are decent-quality sheets that you can get for a good price.
Things to Consider
Finding a set of sheets from the eight listed above can be a challenge. That’s why we put together this buying guide that you can use while you’re in search of the perfect sheets. We will be taking a look at some of the advantages that you can experience with the best sheets for sensitive skin. We’ll also take a look at some of the things you’ll want to consider before making a final purchase.
Advantages of sheets for sensitive skin
No skin irritation
Most people with sensitive skin will be dealing with irritation most of the time. This can be due to the material. The material made with these sheets, in particular, such as bamboo, is smooth and soft, thus making it easier on the skin. No need for skin irritation at all.
They stay soft most of the time
When cotton sheets are washed and dried regularly, they tend to lose their softness over time. For this reason, it can lead to skin issues (especially when the material has a rough, scratchy feel). But with the development of new materials using eco-friendly, sustainable materials, they have the ability to stay soft no matter how many times you wash them.
Excellent temperature regulation
Remember waking up in the middle of the night in the summertime, feeling like you’re sweating to death? One of the things responsible for that is your regular bed sheets. With the sheets listed above, you won’t have to deal with that. Even better, you don’t feel like you’re waking up in a pool of sweat. The sheets have breathable material that will allow you to stay cool when the room is warm and keeps you warm if the room is a bit cooler in the wintertime. Either way, it’s a win-win for you and for those who want a comfortable night’s sleep.
The following are some features that you may want to consider before making a final selection. This will help create a process of elimination for sheets that may not be the best fit for you while whittling down your final options. Now, let’s take a look at what to look for:
These sheets come in different materials. These can be made from bamboo (like the eLuxury Bamboo Bed Sheets), TENCEL (like the Diamond Luxury Tencel Sheets), or something similar. It may come down to the amount of softness you want in the material. If you want something that is super soft, consider a material that is made from bamboo or similar plant-based material.
The size of the sheets you choose will depend on the size of mattress you have. Obviously, if you have a twin bed, then you find the sheets that will be fitting for your mattress size. Also, pay close attention to the depth of your mattress.
Most of these sheets will have deep pockets to ensure that the sheets are secure and will not slip off.
Sheets come in various colors. You can choose a color that is your favorite or something that may blend in with the rest of your bedroom’s interior decor. White is usually a fail-safe color if you are concerned about matching. Otherwise, it’s up to you to decide which color you prefer if you don’t care so much about ‘clashing’ and the like. You can choose between a wide variety of colors, such as the Molecule Percale Performance sheets, or something with a limited option like the Layla Bamboo sheets.
The last thing you want to do is spend money on sheets that won’t last you a long time. You want sheets that are easy to clean and maintain. When looking for sheets, be sure to read the instructions for washing and drying carefully. Most of the product listings will have instructions for maintenance on their product page. Or they come with instructions attached to the tag. The easier they are to clean and maintain, the better. Most of the sheets are machine washable but require special instructions like the Simply Organic Bamboo Sheets.
Some sheets come with a warranty, and others may not. But keep in mind that things can happen with your sheets. It’s important to keep yourself covered. Pay attention to the product listings to see if there is a warranty that is available.
The warranty may cover accidental damage, defects, and similar incidents. It may not cover incidents such as intentional damage or abuse. If necessary, review the warranty policy and how long you are covered if such information is available.
Some sheets that have warranties include the Amore Bed Luxury Bamboo Sheets that have one that will last three years. Sheets like the Molecule Percale Performance sheets won’t have one.
Some sheet sets come with just the fitted and top sheet. Others may come with additional pillowcases. But what exactly will you be looking for? If you want just regular sheets, get a set that includes just the top and fitted sheets. Pillowcases are an extra bonus that is nice to have. But they are not really necessary to have if you are satisfied with your current pillowcases at the moment.
Most skin allergies can be triggered by various allergens. This can include certain materials, dust mites, even some of the ingredients of your detergent (among other things). However, there are a few steps you can take to wash your sheets in the best way possible when you have sensitive skin. First off, change your detergent. Find one that is eco-friendly or organic. These will contain ingredients that are not considered irritants. The keywords to look for are ‘free and clear. Next, do your best to minimize the residue that is left on your sheets. To reduce this, you’ll want to change some settings on your washing machine (especially if you have an older machine). Another thing you can do is up the water temperature. Washing with hot water will kill off any dust mites and other microscopic irritants.
Oddly enough, 100 percent cotton is said to be the most commonly recommended material for those with eczema. However, what they don’t tell you is that cotton has fibers that can expand and contract, causing movement that can irritate sensitive skin. Therefore, it is important to invest in fabrics that are soft such as silk or satin. Likewise, consider other materials like bamboo or even Tencel since they imitate the softness of silk. If you are looking for sheets and suffer from eczema, stay far away from cotton despite people telling you otherwise. The softer the material, the better, so pay close attention to what your sheets are made of when choosing one or the other.
These eight that we’ve chosen for the best sheets for sensitive skin are among the best on the market, in our opinion. Yet, it was hard to come up with a verdict. The factors that came down were the softness, overall functions, quality, and affordability. At the end of the day, we decided that the best of the best are the Molecule Percale Performance Sheets. Not only are they affordable, but they will provide you with the best value in terms of quality and comfort. You get excellent temperature regulation plus bacteria resistance, so you don’t have to deal with any odors or similar issues that you would with regular sheets made with cotton. If you are looking for some good sheets that will be worth the investment and comfortable for your sensitive skin, you can also take a good look at Layla Bamboo Sheets and LuuF Tencel Sheets. Even though that is our recommendation, you may find one of the other five more fittings for you.
