Are you looking for the best sheets for winter? If so, you’re in the right place. It’s always a good idea to stay warm during the winter months. Especially when the room temperatures tend to dip down a bit. You have the heat turned on, but you don’t want to keep it running all night for the purpose of saving energy.
We went through many sheets and ended up choosing eight of the best, which we will be reviewing in more detail below. There are plenty of features for each sheet that we thought stood out in one way or another. And it could play a role in choosing which sheet is best for you. If you are pressed for time, we have taken the liberty of putting together a comparison table.
It’s available in a wide variety of sizes and is made from breathable microfiber, making it one of the best flannel sheets for winter. The breathability gives you the most comfortable sleep you can get.
Cotton sheets may seem like the go-to option for many. Yet, it can also get a little too heavy and not provide you with the amount of warmth that you need. These sheets are light in weight and will provide you with better warmth over cotton sheets any day of the week. If you are looking for sheets that are easy on the skin, you’re probably going to love these. Especially if you have sensitive skin and had a past negative experience with sheets in the past (for obvious reasons), this comes in sizes ranging from Twin to Split Cal King, so you get a size that will be the best fit for you. If you are worried about wrinkles and stains, these sheets are resistant to them. And they will not shrink when you wash and dry them.
What are our favorite features?
One of the things we like is that it has the ability to wick moisture. You hate waking up feeling like you’ve been sweating the whole night. We also liked how it was easy on the skin. If you suffer from sensitive skin issues, these sheets could be your saving grace. Skin irritation can be a bane on trying to sleep better at night. If that’s what you’re thinking, you know these sheets are perfect for you.
What could be better?
Thinking about what could improve was the toughest part. This is one of the best overall sheets that we have come across, and there are no major improvements that we suggest. However, we will say that these sheets are not ideal for the summer. Yes, it's breathable, but we doubt it would be enough to keep you cool at night. These were designed to keep you warm, and warm is what you don't want to feel in the summertime while sleeping.
It’s made from one of the best kinds of cotton on the market. Egyptian cotton is perhaps one of the best quality types of cotton out there. Like Italian leather, it’s among the most valuable. These sheets give you added comfort and a luxurious feel that will have you sleeping like royalty.
If you are looking for sheets that are fitting for deep pocket mattresses, this is the type you want. This will be able to fit mattresses that are 15 inches deep. And you get a snug fit that will keep the sheet in place all the time. If you’re getting sick of your sheets slipping out of place constantly, you know that these sheets will work to your advantage. With a 1200 thread count, these sheets get softer. And it comes in a variety of colors that will make your mattress stand out from the rest of your bedroom decor.
What are our favorite features?
The overall quality is excellent. We don’t have a single complaint about it. What we also liked about it was the ability to retain its softness no matter how many times it went through the wash. These are the kind of sheets that will stay in place most of the time, which is nice if you hate wrestling with sheets and struggle to keep them in place. Overall, it’s comfortable and luxurious.
What could be better?
One of the things we didn't like was that these sheets are cold water wash only. This means warm water can cause slight shrinkage, even though the sheets are not designed to shrink at all. Be careful when washing these. It's easy to forget that you need to wash these with cold water (and possibly separate them from everything else that you need to wash).
If you are looking for the best value, these sheets might give you more bang for your buck. They are soft, comfortable, and perhaps the best quality you can possibly afford at this point.
These sheets are made from organic materials. If you are looking for something that is durable, these sheets might be your best bet, especially when all you want is excellent comfort. These may be the best crib sheets for your baby when you want them to get the best comfort possible. These are excellent quality sheets, but taking care of them will be key. That’s because they are machine-washed cold and low-tumble dry. You get a good amount of softness each time you clean them, which may be good enough for you if you want softness and nothing too rigid. These are single ply sheets that will ensure durability. So, if you want sheets for the long-term, these may have to do for you.
What makes it special?
We do like the fact that these are made from organic, sustainable materials. They do tend to last a long time and will not harm the environment if there comes a time when they need to be disposed of properly. Yes, bedsheets don’t last forever. But at least you’ll have peace of mind knowing that you will be doing some good for the environment when it comes time to ‘retire’ these sheets.
What cons did we find?
Once again, it may be something you may not like. But the fact that it requires machine wash cold and low tumble dry, our greatest concern is users forgetting that. So, it would be wise to wash these separately from the other parts of your bedding (unless they require the same care). The durability and quality are outstanding, but these sheets may affect them both if they are not cared for properly. So, when taking care of these, do be careful.
Hypoallergenic sheets are made from bamboo, so you get softness in comfort and for your skin. You’ll get excellent comfort no matter what time of year it is. It comes in various sizes, from Twin to Cal King.
If you are looking for the best twin sheets for winter or sheets for both the summer and winter, these might just be what you are looking for. The material is so breathable that you can be able to keep cool when the room is quite warm. At the same time, you can feel comfortable under these sheets even if the room temperature is a bit on the cool side. So, either way, you get the best of both worlds. You get a fitted and flat sheet plus two standard-sized pillowcases. One of the best things about these sheets is that you get a lifetime warranty. So, if something happens, you can get these replaced with no questions asked. With a warranty like that, there is no doubting its quality.
What stands out?
One of the best features that we liked is that it has the ability to be used throughout the whole year. In other words, these sheets are great for all seasons. That's the beauty of these sheets being made from 100 percent bamboo. Bamboo is climate-adaptive, so you can be able to use the sheets no matter how warm or cool the room is. These sheets are perhaps one of the more underrated selections you can find on the market.
What cons did we manage to find?
These were yet another set of sheets where we had a hard time finding something that could improve. But if there was one thing we could improve, it would be that the sheets should have a less silky feeling at the outset. That could be remedied by a few washes. Soft is one thing, but too soft must be an issue. Other than that, there is nothing else that we didn’t like.
These sheets come in two colors: white and dark charcoal. And it is available in four different sizes. Made from 100% Tencel, it gives you maximum breathability and excellent comfort. Since it’s made from sustainable materials, it will not harm the environment when disposed of.
This has a 400-thread count that ensures softness, durability, and moisture-wicking. So, you get excellent quality sheets that will give you the most comfortable sleep without feeling like you are waking up in a pool of sweat. Plus, you can stay cool or warm depending on the room conditions. These sheets are made exclusively for the Eight Sleep Pod, so if you have one of those, you’ll be good to go with sheets like these.
What makes it stand out?
We like these sheets based on their excellent qualities, such as their durability and their overall breathability. The truth is, you may not get this much comfort from a standard pair of sheets. Furthermore, these sheets do get softer with every wash. This might just be a nice pair of sheets to have if you are environmentally conscious and don't want to sacrifice quality as a result. These sheets will last quite a while, which we like. So, you don’t have to keep going out and buy more of them ever so often.
Which disadvantages must you keep in mind?
One thing we didn’t like about these is that these sheets were made exclusively for a specific kind of mattress. So, it remains to be seen how well they will fit on a mattress that isn’t made from the Eight Sleep brand. These are great quality sheets, no doubt. But there is a cause for concern regarding whether or not these will actually fit properly and stay in place. With that said, find other reviews that state whether or not these will fit on regular mattresses.
Made with jersey-knit cotton, these will give you excellent comfort. It’s as if you’re wearing your favorite t-shirt to bed. It includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and one pillowcase. Another one of the best twin sheets for winter.
These sheets come in various colors. So, you can choose one that will fit your style and personality. But when in doubt, always go for lighter colors like white or gray. The fitted sheets fit mattresses up to 16 inches in height. This sheet will stay fitted and in place. No slippage to worry about at all. And we all know how annoying that would be with just regular fitted sheets. The jersey knit material makes it nice and soft, so you won’t have to worry about it being too soft or too rough on the skin.
Why are we impressed?
One thing we liked is that you get one of each. Since it is designed for twin beds, it’s a simple sheet set. So, you don't have to wrestle with too many things. The jersey knit material is soft to the touch and quite durable. If you are looking for what could be one of the more affordable sheets for winter on the market, you're in luck. While they are of great quality, the price that it goes for isn't too shabby.
What negatives must you be aware of?
Obviously, the one thing that could be better is that these kinds of sheets were available in almost every size. Granted, this is available only in a twin size for the moment. However, you cannot just hold the awesome comfort of these sheets back from someone that is sleeping on a bigger bed. Aside from that, there really isn't anything else that would need improvement as far as these sheets go.
Soft to the touch and made from non-toxic organic materials. They are made with a 320-thread count sateen weave to ensure excellent softness. It might have that silk feeling to it when in reality, it is made from the best sustainable materials you can find in bedsheets.
You get one flat, one deep-pocketed sheet, and two pillowcases (with the exception of the Twin and Twin XL sizes). The sheets are made from organic cotton that is Fair Trade certified. So, if ethics play a role in your purchasing decision, then these sheets are the clear choice for you. These sheets have excellent moisture-wicking capabilities and will help keep you cool and comfortable every single night. Even in the winter months, you’ll be able to stay warm without feeling like you are suffocating. These sheets will feel easy on your skin, so you don’t have to worry about irritation in the slightest. Especially when it’s washed and dried with the detergent that you use.
What are its best features?
Where do we begin? We absolutely love the overall touch and feel of these sheets. You’ll feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud every night. Even when you wash and dry every time, you won't have to worry about them shrinking or losing their softness. The overall ventilation and airflow are perhaps some of the best things about these sheets. And it's one of the key contributors in providing you with excellent comfort. Who wouldn't want sheets that will make you feel like you're getting the best sleep of your life every night?
What could be improved?
One of the things we think would be better is to provide more color options. There are about three in total, and they are all light. It may be a good idea to expand the color options so buyers like yourself will have other choices. Not everyone is going to be a fan of white or light blue. They might go for something darker and bolder because it fits their room style or their personality.
This 4-piece sheet set is made from high-quality microfiber, making it lightweight and breathable. You get sophistication and comfort in a sheet set. Its luxurious feel will make you feel like you’re sleeping like a VIP.
This has one flat sheet, one fitted sheet, and two pillowcases for your full-sized bed. It comes in one color, a shade of sea mist blue that has more of an off-grey color. It’s neutral, blends in nicely with the most bedroom decor, and best of all, it’s comfortable. It’s machine washable and will retain its softness every time you run it through the washer and dryer. So, you don’t have to worry about losing it. It has a high thread count, making it supremely comfortable. The microfiber is breathable and lightweight, so you can stay cool throughout the night. If it ever gets a little cool in your room, it will do a good job of retaining warmth so you won’t feel the need to get up and crank up the heat.
What makes it stand out?
One of the things that we liked about these sheets is that they are machine washable and dryer safe. In other words, you won't need to deal with any special instructions like you would with the other sheets listed above. If you are looking for sheets that will look great on your full-sized bed, you'll probably want to grab these, especially when they have that elegant look matched with unstoppable comfort.
Which disadvantages must you keep in mind?
There were a couple of things that we didn't like. For one, it's available in only one color. A buyer like yourself may hate that shade of blue and want something completely different. If that's you, we totally understand. We know that there can be too many options for those wanting to choose sheets for the winter. However, there is such a thing as having too few options. So, it might be best to make it available in different colors such as grey, white, or even beige.
Things to Consider
Choosing between one sheet from the other can be a challenge. For this reason, we have put together this buyer’s guide to help you make the right choice for yourself. Not all sheets are created equal, but there will be a set that may fit you best based on a few factors, including personal preference.
We’ll discuss the advantage of winter sheets, plus go over the list of features that are considered important when it comes to the selection process. Keep reading this buyer’s guide so you can find the best winter sheets for yourself:
Advantages of Winter Sheets
Breathable and keeps you warm
The breathability of these sheets is designed to make sure that your skin doesn’t get smothered under the sheets. This can cause you to feel a lot warmer than normal. It will feel like you are sleeping in a sauna. The materials used for these sheets are breathable and will ensure that you stay comfortable without losing any much-needed warmth in the process. The breathability also makes the fabric consistently soft no matter how many times it runs through the washer and dryer.
Most of these breathable sheets will also have moisture-wicking features, so you won’t feel like you are waking up sweating to death. And you may know this feeling all too well. These sheets provide a balance to keep you warm and comfortable at the same time.
Soft and comfortable
These sheets are made from materials such as flannel, Tencel, polyester, and even some additional materials that are sustainable for the environment. Both sides of the sheet will be very soft and perhaps cozy as well. And you can be able to retain that softness after you run it through the washer and dryer. Standard bed sheets don’t do that in the slightest.
If you have sensitive skin issues, chances are you are going to need bed sheets that are soft enough so that they won’t trigger any kind of skin irritation that you may have. The good news is some of the materials such as bamboo and Tencel are 100 percent hypoallergenic and soft on the skin. The even better news is that it stays soft.
Think of the last time your bedsheets gave you grief because of your sensitive skin. Did you sleep well at all? You probably didn’t. And it might be for this reason that you should purchase winter sheets that are not just useful for one time of the year but year-round as well.
These are some of the most important features that you need to consider while choosing your pair of sheets. As you go through each item on the list, keep in mind what exactly you are looking for. You may not find a sheet set that is perfect, but you will find something that may be close enough. We’ll also mention some of the product names as suggestions regarding these features.
There are various materials that are featured on the list. These include but are not limited to bamboo

Compared to other fabrics used to make pillows, bamboo may be better at keeping a sleeper’s head cool and dry.
, Tencel, jersey, and others.
The material could be vital, especially if you are suffering from sensitive skin issues.
If you’re looking for sheets that will be skin-friendly, there are two to consider. The Puffy Sheets and the Birch Organic Sheets are what we think are the two best sheets for those dealing with sensitive skin issues.
The sizes range from Twin to California King. Whatever your mattress size is, obviously, you are going to need to find a sheet that will accommodate your size. Granted, some of the sheets on this list are not available in sizes such as Twin or Twin XL. While there may be many sheets available in that size, it may be difficult to choose between one or the other.
There is a myriad of colors that you can choose from. From one sheet set to the next, you have your choice of colors. You could choose a lighter color such as white or beige or go for something completely dark in color. For example, in the Eight Sleep Pod Sheet Sets, you have two colors to choose from: white and black. The Udine 4 Piece Full-Size Microfiber Sheet Set only comes in one color: seafoam blue.
The choice of color could come down to either personal preference. Or it could be something that will blend in with the rest of your bedroom decor. Either way, there really is no written rule on which color is appropriate and which color is not.
What comes in the set?
Typically, a sheet set comes with a flat sheet, a fitted sheet (or deep pocket sheet), and a pillowcase. Depending on the size it is made for, you could have two pillowcases. A Twin-Size will only have one pillowcase in its set. Once again, the Carolina Rustica Ink & Ivy Cotton Jersey Knit Heather Sheet Set is an example of having one of each. The rest of them will have one sheet a piece plus two pillowcases (from full-size on up).

, or specifically how it should be washed and dried, is something to consider. Some of these sheets will require you to wash it a certain way (i.e.– cold water wash) and also dry it on a specific setting like low-tumble dry. One set of sheets that will require maintenance this way is the Awara Organic Cotton Sheets. Other than that, it is important to pay attention to how your sheets should be washed and dried.
If you want to save yourself the hassle of having to worry about whether or not you have it on the right settings, you can get sheets like the Udine 4 Piece Full-Size Microfiber Sheet Set, which is a machine washable and dryer safe with regular settings.
Extra features and design
Aside from the obvious features, there may be some extra features you may want to consider or even the design. You could go for a design that will allow you to tuck the sheet in a little deeper. The Eight Sleep Pod Sheet Set is one example where it is uniquely designed for a certain mattress. The depth of your mattress will help you find the right design for your sheets.
The top materials that may provide you with the best warmth are flannel and cotton sateen. These materials are used in some of the sheets listed above. These materials are designed to trap body heat and give you better insulation, especially on cold nights in the winter. Some materials that are also breathable may also allow you excellent comfort while keeping you warm such as bamboo. From there, you can be able to decide which type of sheets will be best for you based on the price, color, and other factors that may be just based on your personal preferences.
To maintain the sheets and ensure they stay in good condition, you will need to follow the washing and drying instructions carefully. For example, if it calls for cold water washing and low tumble drying, make sure that your washer and dryer are programmed to those settings before you throw them in. It is also important to wash these sheets every week to ensure that they stay clean. Sheets that do not get cleaned regularly can lead to dust getting trapped and may trigger allergies for those who may be allergic to dust or dander. The maintenance instructions will depend on the material that your sheets are made from.
